This poster is revealed to the audience in public areas in order to advertise and promote the film to the audience. Some areas where this poster could be viewed would be online, in cinemas, shops, bus stations etc. The message behind the poster is to reveal a crime thriller film which attaches to the audience through a visual approach to create a sense of imagery, to illustrate words that juxtapose to an image of the main actor. The protagonist who is represented upon the film poster tends takes the majority of the poster as they will be presented onscreen the most throughout the film. Although, this makes the poster more appealing to the audience.
The poster itself is significant through different elements although, it follows the conventions of usual thriller posters as this is relevant through the use of the black background to provide a shape of the actor holding a gun, the typography of the title, the slogan in bold and the steeltongs font at the bottom for example, to identify the distributor, editor and director. The black background conveys death whereas, the typography of the bold orange writing for the title emphasises the context of the film as his daughter has been taken by a kidnapper. Although, the colour motif of orange which is used within the title stands out therefore, drawing the audience in however, the colour is effective as it signifies enthusiasm and encouragement which could reflect the role of the main character trying to capture the kidnapper. Additionally, the actors name spread along the top of the poster supports the fact that it is only a teaser poster however, as he is a worldwide famous actor it can help provide a fan base for the film as well as displaying who stars within the film. The slogan framed in the middle of the poster, 'I don't know who you are but if you don't let my daughter go I will find you I will kill you' uses bold capital letters to suggest the protagonists dominance and aggression as to his daughter going missing. However, it engages the audience as well as this it involves the viewers as it uses features of 2nd person pronouns, 'you' to directly address the audience.
Overall, this poster promotes the film in an effective, creative and interesting way to successfully engage the audience to read more about it.
